Plano Balloon Festival

This past weekend we attended the Plano Balloon Festival. It was Mommy and Daddy's first time, so we didn't know what to expect. North Texas got some much needed rain Friday night, but that meant that the balloons couldn't launch. With Friday night's, and Saturday morning's launch being cancelled, Saturday evening was crazy crowded in hopes that the balloons would fly. The winds just never died down enough for the balloons to go up safely. So sad. We did get to walk around a bit and I enjoyed my first turkey leg! Then we settled down in a spot and watched the balloons inflate for the balloon glow. Pretty neat stuff! We wished we would have seen the balloons in the air, but we definitely understand that the pilots safety is first priority. Hopefully we'll get to see them fly next year!

Great Abuelita's 81st

We've been blessed to have my Great Abuelita Garcia around for another year. That of course called for a big fiesta to be thrown for her! We decided kind of last minute to have the party at Abuelita and Abuelito's house, but Mommy was still able to make a few decorations and think of and bake some goodies! Most of my Aunts and Uncles were able to attend and lots of grandkids came to play. This was the weekend the weather started changing, so we were able to spend most of the party outside! We played games, grilled, and just enjoyed each other's company. We even had DJ Timmy and his friend play some jams for us. That's just how we roll! All in all, the party was a great success. Thank you, Lord, for the years you've given Ama. I pray that we get many, many more with her and that she get's to greet more and more great grandkids into this world!

Summer Trips

This has been one busy summer for the Faber Family! It started off with a quick getaway in June to Austin with Mommy and Daddy. It was pretty last minute, but we had a great time. We toured the Capitol Building, did some shopping, enjoyed some splash pads, and got to hang out with some of Daddy's old friends. They go waaaaay back - like to when they were little bitty kids! Mommy and Daddy kept saying that this was a much different Austin trip than what they were used to Pre-Sophia. I'm not sure what that meant, but surely it was lame since I wasn't around!

The next stop was Wichita, Kansas for Daddy's cousin Kyle's wedding in July. We rode with Grandma and Grandpa in their mini van, and I got to face forward in the car for the first time ever! It.was.awesome. The wedding was in the same little chapel that Grandma and Grandpa got married in many years ago at his college alma mater, Wichita State University. We had a fun time visiting family and watching Kyle and Tuyet exchange vows. The trip was extra special because I got to see my great grandparents, too. Great Grandma Betty even came to the wedding with us!

The last trip of the summer was in August. We went to Lake Conroe and Galveston with Abuelita and Abuelito. We had so much fun! Me, Mommy, and Daddy drove down to the lake on Monday, and Abuelita and Abuelito met us the next day. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo right on the lake thanks to the Abuelita and Abuelito's time share! We'll have to do it again since it worked out so nicely. They have tons of things to do when I get older that will make the trip even more fun! On Wednesday morning we drove down to Galveston so I could see the beach and so Mommy could get some pictures of me as a baby in a bikini at the beach. She's pretty crazy, but we had a good time hanging out and playing in the sand. We stayed the night there and on our way back to Conroe we made a trip to the Kemah Boardwalk. This place was sooo neat, but it was soooooo ridiculously hot that we didn't get to enjoy it too long. I did get to ride a few rides and we all rode the train around the boardwalk. We got back to the lake in the early evening and all had dinner together before Abuelito had to go back home. We got to have lunch with Tia Norvella and Tio Otis, who live in The Woodlands, before we came home on Friday. I got to see my cousins Cameron and Lailah, too. I love hanging out with big kids!

Cheesin' on the Choo Choo

Even though this summer was incredibly hot (we broke the record for the most days over 100 degrees) we had lots of fun on our road trips. I can't wait until next summer, and I especially can't wait for my first plane trip! Mommy and Daddy say that will be a while, cause they aren't ready to deal with all of my crazies in tight quarters with hundreds of strangers. So instead they are going to take a trip together to Cancun in November for their 4th anniversary. How rude! Well, while they get to stay here...

... I'll get to do whatever my little heart desires with Grandma, Grandpa, Abuelito, AND Abuelita! I don't know who's more excited??!!
